Prince Harry is evidently a proud father of two, whose children seem to hardly ever leave his mind.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet were on the Duke of Sussex’s brain while he was at the WellChild Awards last month. During Prince Harry’s appearance at the awards ceremony in London, he discussed children his and wife Meghan Markle’s children Archie, and Lilibet.

“From the moment he arrived in the reception room, he had an infectious energy about him, and there were no airs and graces at all as he chatted animatedly about his own children ahead of the event,” Hello! reported, per People.

Amid his heartfelt speech about his kids, the famous royal spoke about his children’s hair in relation to his American actress spouse. “Archie and Lili have been blessed with their mother’s thick hair, he told us, self-effacingly, as he marveled that it won’t be long until Lili can sit on hers,” Hello! reported.

This wasn’t the first time that the Spare author talked about his kids’ hair, and the color of their tresses.

“The Spencer gene is very, very strong. I actually really, genuinely thought at the beginning of my relationship [with Meghan] that, should this go the distance and we have kids, that there’s no way the ginger gene will stand up to my wife’s genes — but I was wrong!,” he said on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, speaking on his late mother Princess Diana’s Spencer family.

While he might be the most famous red-headed prince, he’s not the only aristocrat with his fiery hair color. Along with Prince Harry, his mom Princess Diana’s siblings, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Lady Jane Fellowes and Earl Charles Spencer also have red hair.

Hello! noted that Meghan was holding the fort while he traveled to the U.K. for the WellChild Awards.

“His wonderful wife Meghan was holding the fort, he said, her hands full with not only their two children but also their three dogs, which he joked were not quite house-trained. Not to mention the chickens!,” the news outlet mentioned.

Prince Harry was “in his element” at the yearly event, according to Hello! He’s been one of the WellChild sponsors since 2007. It’s one of the “few patronages” he has kept since he and Meghan stepped down from their royal roles in 2020.

According to People, “The WellChild Awards celebrate the incredible courage and achievements of seriously ill children and also spotlight the dedication of those who care for them, from parents to nurses.”
