An intrepid cat embarks on a daring climb up an electric pole, only to find itself trapped at the pinnacle, in need of a rescue.
For this cat, climbing to the top of a utility pole wasn’t too difficult. But getting back down was a completely different matter.
Heather Padilla lives in California ( United States ), with her cat Ruth . According to her, Ruth is “ very active ”. This is probably why she took on a new challenge: that of climbing to the top of an electrical pole. But after her climb, the cat was less smart. She didn’t know how to get back down, and started crying for someone to come and help her. A story reported by News Channel 3 .
Heather searched for Ruth for several days
Heather is used to her cat wandering around the neighborhood, but normally she comes home at least for meals. The young woman was therefore worried when Ruth disappeared for several days. Something must have happened to him!
It was the desperate cries of the cat that finally allowed her mistress to find her. She heard them while she was on her way to work. The moans seemed to come from above. Heather looked up, and saw a small shape on top of a utility pole. As she got closer, she recognized Ruth , caught in her own trap.
A bucket truck was used to save the feline
Luckily, the Imperial Irrigation District ( IID ), the company that supplies the electricity, agreed to help the poor cat. They started by cutting off the electricity to the affected pole, then a worker climbed into a bucket truck to retrieve the feline.
Animal control was also present and was able to provide a net to assist in the capture. The main objective was that the cat would not fall if it became frightened and tried to flee.
The operation went wonderfully, and Ruth was able to return to the comfort of dry land, and the comfort of her mother’s arms. She is very grateful to all the rescuers.
