NYC Mayor Eric Adams Slammed for Comments on P. Diddy Amid Indictment Charges! .Cau

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has found himself in the spotlight after being indicted on federal criminal charges, and an old tweet of his regarding Sean “Diddy” Combs has resurfaced, sparking widespread online commentary.

Although the specific charges against Adams remain sealed, he has previously been under investigation for matters such as campaign fundraising for his 2021 mayoral race. However, many online users are fixating on an event from September 2023 when Adams awarded Diddy a symbolic key to New York City. The rapper, who is currently facing serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, received the key before the current allegations against him came to light.

Adams and Diddy

At the time, Adams posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), saying, “He might be the ‘bad boy’ of entertainment, but Sean Combs will forever be a New York City kid who made good. He’s given so much back to his roots, and every move he makes is proof that hustle pays off. Enjoy your key to the city, @Diddy!”

In light of Diddy’s arrest, that tweet is now being seen from a different perspective. Diddy’s key to the city was revoked nine months later, after a video surfaced showing him allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie, in a hotel hallway. Adams expressed his dismay at the footage, stating he was “deeply disturbed” by what he saw.

With Adams now under federal scrutiny, social media has been buzzing with humor and speculation. Since the main federal prison in New York is the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where Diddy is currently being held, users are joking about the possibility of Adams and Diddy becoming cellmates. One user commented, “Eric Adams and Diddy bout to share the same jail cell, NYC going full Gotham tonight,” while another wrote, “Adams and Diddy could be cellmates in the same federal prison. I know I’m not supposed to laugh, but come on, I find this hilarious.”

Some even made memes about the pair, with one user quipping, “Puff & Eric Adams gotta recreate this picture with the key to their jail cell,” referring to the photo of Diddy receiving the key to the city from the mayor.

Adams’ indictment has been a point of celebration for many New Yorkers, particularly those critical of his budget cuts and allegations of corruption. One social media user summed up the sentiment, writing, “New Yorkers feel the same way about Eric Adams indictment as the Irish do about the Queen’s death.”
