Angus and Milo were loved by their owner and must have struggled to understand why they found themselves without her overnight. Unfortunately, the deterioration of their mother’s health did not allow her to continue taking care of them.
From a young age and for 10 years, Angus and Milo lived together. Sharing moments of play as well as moments of tenderness, they became very close. But what united them the most was unfortunately a common ordeal: abandonment. Their mistress actually fell ill and could no longer take care of them properly. She preferred to entrust them to a shelter called Nashville Cat Rescue , located in Tennessee (United States) .
The shelter staff chose not to separate the duo so as not to cause them to lose even more bearings. He entrusted them both to Sarah Sylvester , a volunteer foster family. But the felines, who had only known one family, took a long time to adapt.
“ I put the boys in my host room, dropped off some food and water, and left them alone for the evening so they could unwind, ” Sarah said of the first day of her stay. ‘welcome.
For 2 weeks, the cats hid in a closet. They only came out furtively to feed and do their business. Luckily, they were there for each other and comforted each other.
Sarah noticed that Milo seemed to have health issues. His fur was greasy, his eyes dull and he drank more than the normal amount. The vet examined him and diagnosed feline diabetes.
Following this, the cat was able to receive daily treatment and he felt much better. He regained energy and good humor, and his joy was contagious. It was thanks to this that the felines began to feel happy enough to go meet their foster mother.
We then had to wait almost 7 months before a family came forward to adopt one or the other of the cats. But luckily, they were eventually adopted together. Their new mother is a nurse and devotes a lot of time to elderly animals or animals with special needs. It will be ideal for them!
