The New York Jets have already had a busy offseason, hiring Darren Mougey as their new general manager, Aaron Glenn as their new head coach and all of the coaches and front-office personnel working under them.

They’ve also already moved on from wide receiver Davante Adam, who signed with the Los Angeles Rams, and are planning to cut quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

With the legal-tampering window opening on Monday, the Jets are set to have a slew of players available to negotiate free-agent deals with the other 31 teams across the NFL, including edge rusher Haason Reddick.

Interestingly, Sportsnaut’s Matt Johnson recently predicted that Reddick will leave New York this offseason and sign a deal with the Atlanta Falcons.

Reddick, 30, played collegiately at Temple from 2012-16, earning All-AAC honors in his final season before the Arizona Cardinals took him with the 13th overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.

After four seasons, in Arizona, he signed a one-year deal to reunite with his college coach, Matt Rhule, with the Carolina Panthers.

In 2022, he signed a three-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles and earned two Pro Bowl nominations and a Second-team All-Pro selection before they shipped him to the Jets last offseason.

Reddick and the Jets had contract issues to start the linebacker’s tenure in New York which caused him to miss regular-season games. The two sides eventually agreed to a reworked contract, ending his holdout after six weeks.

He went on to appear in 10 games, recording 14 tackles (two for a loss), three quarterback hits, one sack, one pass defensed and one forced fumble.

New York wouldn’t be losing much if Reddick were to walk this offseason after his performance in 2024, but there’s always a chance he’ll bounce back to the double-digit sack player he was the previous four seasons.

For the Falcons, they recorded the second-fewest sacks in football last year, ahead of only the New England Patriots. They also have eight members of their defensive front hitting the market, so they could use all the pass-rush help they can get.
