From “outsider” to legend
When he was added as Tigers coach in 1979, Sparky was only known for his role as the Cincinnati Reds manager. But in Detroit, he changed the entire look of the team, leading the team back to glory – with the 1984 World Series championship. The statistical achievements to this day still resonate: more than 1,300 victories, a number that is not easy to compare in MLB history.

$3.5 million – A monument, an inspiring story
The monument will not only be an eternal image but also a symbol that connects the love of darkness and the Detroit community. Located right in front of Highmark Stadium, the monument is expected to become a favorite destination for fans every time the game takes place – where they can touch, see and remember the glorious era of the Tigers.
