Matthew Janney’s adoptive parents are happy that their son is dating the “Harry Potter” actress.
The 23-year-old actress recently went public with her relationship with Oxford University student Matthew Janney, 21. The two met through mutual friends. Their relationship has received support from many people, including Matthew’s foster parents Coralie and James Day.
Sharing with the Evening Standard, Coralie Day, 57, said that Matthew announced his new relationship to his family two weeks ago. “We are happy that he is pursuing Emma Watson. We can’t wait to meet her. I’m glad she has found such a wonderful young man. There is nothing bad to say about Matt. He is a really lovely boy.”
Matthew Janney was orphaned. His father, David, died of cancer at the age of 42 when Matthew was very young. His mother, Jill, a lawyer, raised him and his older sister, Jemima, on her own until she died of breast cancer in 2008 when Matthew was 16.
After Matthew Janney’s parents died, Coralie and James Day raised him. “After Matt’s mother died, I became his second mother. I took Matthew to Oxford when he started school. I was very proud of him,” Coralie said. “Matt was very close to Harry, my son from my first marriage. They had a lot in common.”
Matthew Janney is considered intelligent and talented. He is majoring in medieval and modern languages at Oriel College, Oxford University, England. Meanwhile, Emma transferred to Worcester College, Oxford system in October 2011, after completing her course at Brown University, USA that same year.
The “Harry Potter” actress and Matthew recently went on vacation in the Caribbean. They constantly exchanged kisses and hot gestures on the beach. Emma quietly broke up with her long-time boyfriend Will Adamowicz last summer.
