Nineties supermodel Georgina Cooper has died at the age of 46 due to liver cirrhosis and internal bleeding, following organ failure.

Georgina, who went by her married name Smith, fell ill on October 21 while visiting the Greek island of Kos, a destination she had frequented for two decades.

She was on vacation with her partner, Nigel, when she was initially hospitalized locally. Later, she was airlifted to a more advanced medical facility in Heraklion, Crete, where she passed away after five days in intensive care.

According to a local coroner, an autopsy was unnecessary as her “medical history was known,” and her body was repatriated to England shortly after her passing.

A hospital representative told MailOnline, “The doctors did what they could but because of her condition there was not much that could be done.”

The spokesperson added, “She died from cirrhosis of the liver and internal bleeding after her organs failed. The coroner ruled there was no need for an autopsy because her medical history was known.”

They further explained, “Her body was moved from the Venizelou Hospital in Heraklion across the city to another facility before being flown back to Britain.”

Family and friends of Georgina are organizing a heartfelt funeral service to honor her memory next week.

The service will take place on Wednesday at Vinters Park Crematorium in Maidstone, Kent, near her home.

Nigel and her family remain deeply affected by the loss as they struggle to process the tragedy.

Sources revealed the funeral will be a respectful tribute to the beloved Cool Britannia icon, who counted catwalk legend Kate Moss among her friends.

One source commented, “Everything is raw, but she was well loved. She was unpretentious – no heirs and graces.”

Fellow supermodels Jade Parfitt, Helena Christensen, Erin O’Connor, and Jodie Kidd paid their respects, describing her as a “ray of light” whose “achievements were huge.”
