Leah McBride and her crane mechanic husband, Austin, were thrilled to welcome twins in January 2019. McBride, from Lake Jackson, Texas, stated, “Our doctors told us, ‘I think your tiny twin saved her sister’s life.’” Poppy’s pulse rate was erratic, so she had to be delivered, but she was entirely healthy after birth. The physicians believe she transmitted distress signals because she knew her sister wouldn’t survive if she wasn’t delivered quickly. Leah stated that they are “as intelligent as can be” and that Winnie can “read books from memory at the age of three.” Additionally, they are very near together.
