Nicole Kidman has been slammed for ‘rudely’ shoving Salma Hayek at Paris Fashion Week, but the awkward moment could have serious consequences for the actress
A surprising turn of events has emerged in the Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek shoving incident that could prove to be quite expensive.
A video clip showing the actresses in a confrontation at Paris Fashion Week last month has gone viral. The pair were posing for photographers alongside singer Katy Perry when the uncomfortable moment took place. Nicole has been criticized for “rudely” pushing Salma, an act that was captured on camera.

Nicole kissed Katy goodbye as she walked away and had more words with Salma. It appeared as though Salma said “Yes please – advice,” to which Nicole responded, “You don’t need it,” and Hayek replied, “I do.” However, it has now been suggested that the altercation may be more serious than initially thought.
The video could potentially jeopardize Nicole’s deal with Balenciaga. Nicole is a brand ambassador for Balenciaga, but this role may be at risk as Salma’s billionaire husband Francois-Henri Pinault owns the luxury brand.
French tycoon Pinault, the CEO of Kering, a company founded by his father who initially found success in the timber trade before acquiring a 42 percent stake in the Gucci Group in 1999. The luxury goods conglomerate now boasts ownership of high-end brands like Gucci, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, and Alexander McQueen.
In 2005, Pinault took over the reins as CEO of Kering from his father. Nicole was appointed as the brand ambassador for Balenciaga in December 2023.
Louis Pisano, a writer and fashion commentator, hinted at potential trouble for Nicole’s job on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Oh that ‘don’t touch me” from Nicole to Salma at a brand show owned by her husband, that Balenciaga contract is in danger I fear. ” Social media users also chimed in on the awkward situation.
One user stated: “Nicole is an employee of Salma’s husband so yes, Salma gets to boss her around. Besides, Nicole is there working for Salma’s husband.”
Another commented: “I get that Salma was probably trying to direct her to pose for the cameras, but some people don’t like to be touched regardless of the situation, and you just gotta respect that,” while another added: “Why is Nicole being so rude?”
